It’s not easy. But, it’s worth it.
After three years working in safety at BAE systems, Eric Frazier was laid off. Now, Frazier reflects on that time as the worst and the best days of his life. Getting laid off forced him to explore other career opportunities. Frazier visited the Career Center and learned about training programs for dislocated workers.
He applied and received a training scholarship to Premier Truck Driving Academy. After seven weeks of training, Frazier has reason to celebrate. He successfully completed the training program and passed the test to receive his CDL license.
After training, he was hired as a short haul truck driver with a local trucking company. He’s thankful for the opportunity to start over and provide for his family. His future plans include becoming an owner/operator.
“Thank you SWAPTE for the training scholarship,” says Frazier. He also, thanks the teachers at Premier Truck Driving Academy. Although the training was hard., Frazier describes the teachers as supportive and patient. Frazier states his CDL license affords him many opportunities and the sky’s the limit.
